Our focus

REIAS is focusing development of smaller to medium sized power plants 10-50 MW installed capacity.

Although we evaluate opportunities everywhere - Latin America and especially Central America are our core markets. These markets are expected to show a strong increase in demand for electricity. These markets also currently have a high dependency on thermal energy. The combination of increasing demand and current dependency on thermal energy should allow for a good financial return while at the same time helping to reduce the increase in CO₂ locally and world wide.

REIAS business model is to use the optimal mix of international, local and Norwegian competence to develop hydro power projects.

Background

Hydro energy is the cheapest renewable energy source - if all sources of a commodity receive the same price, the cheapest producer should also be the most profitable.

There are limited opportunities to invest in hydro energy production in developed nations as all good projects have been developed.

Growing global population is a mega trend that will increase CO₂ emissions and demand for energy - growth from a low base will provide continued strong growth and pressure to provide more energy with zero or low emissions.
